A little bit of our summer

We took a little summer vacation last week. We actually didn't leave San Antonio, but it was still fun and we did it together. That's all that really matters anyway. :)

*Jason and I took a Sunday off and had tickets to Schlitterbahn. We dropped the kids off and headed to New Braunfels with our friends, The Conants. I love it there. I really would love to see our family living there one day. We ended up staying at a Bed & Breakfast in the town square and ate dinner at the amazing Huisache Grill . It was a much needed night away for us. We had a lot of fun at Schlitterbahn. I couldn't ride much because I'm pregnant, but any time in the water is fun. The B&B was awesome and the company was even better.

*Tuesday, we spent the day at Landa Park, rode the train and headed to BJ's for dinner. I was determined not to cook. If we were going to do a stay-cation, then I was not cooking!

*Jason was up to preach on Sunday (and he did AWESOME, BTW!), so Wednesday was spent with me cleaning and he working on his message. Kids & Jason got haircuts and we ended the day having dinner at Canyon Cafe in the Quarry and Orange Cup for dessert. It was Jason's first time to try Orange Cup. If you haven't, be sure to go today. It will change your frozen-yogurt life.
I love our little family and thank God for them every day. After this baby comes I am planning a trip for Jason & I to go to the East Coast. I think by then we will deserve it.

Some Houston Highlights

We are having a great time in Houston. I am planning on tomorrow being a day of "rest" for us. Don't want to overload our trip with doing a lot of things and not really having a vacation...if you know what I mean.

We went to the Galleria today and had a great time. Will post more on that later (with some pictures), but for now I can at least say that Jason was OVERWHELMED just a bit. :)

Here are some pictures from our journey here.

This is in Schulenberg, Texas (half-way point to Houston). Great Pecans!

Remember my story about Reagan & the cookies? Well, here is the proof!

Jackson took this picture. :) My brother is on the far left with his SUPER SWEET wife Melissa and that is my sister, Savannah in the middle with her boyfriend Carlos. Love those kids!
This is one of the first times Jackson has spent significant time with my brother. My brother, who is also a drummer really bonded with Jack. It made my heart glad.
Sweater Twins! Melissa and I actually showed up in the same sweater! Ha.

More highlights -
*Jackson was given $15 for Christmas from my grandma and he bought a super soft Cars blanket. He loves it, but I love it more.
*I splurged at Charming Charlie's at the Galleria. I am obsessed with that place!
*Got to have dinner with a great old friend. Yay for meatloaf, Guitar Hero and old friends.

Bummer highlight -
*My kids are sleeping horribly and now Jason and I have started taking turns at who gets to sleep in the room that has no kids in it. Bummer!

Stay tuned for more!

Visting Houston

Our family drove to Houston today to spend some time with my Dad and see the rest of my family. We have been here for 4 hours and already have been shopping and had a delicious dinner at Red Lobster. I am feeling spoiled, but actually enjoying this rare occasion. It will be nice to have a few days by away.

Highlights from our 3 hour drive here...

*Listening to our favorite driving songs that Jason put his Ipod. Kenny Chesney, Bob Dylan, Billy Joel (I know!), The Beatles, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, Kari Jobe, Coblie Calliat...and much more.

*Reagan found a bag of cookies that I packed for an "emergency" and was into cookie number 3 before I noticed. Chocolate everywhere! Thank goodness for wipes.

*Jackson asking every 25 minutes, "Daddy are you SURE this is the right way to Papa's house?"

*My sweet driving skills. I scared Jason out of his mind, but I had fun! Ha.

Working at Home

Another one of Bre's amazing pictures of us. :) She's so awesome.
I am working from home today. I can now access my desk top at work from my home computer. Yay. It makes things much easier. Jackson is playing in the living room and I am working. What a great day.

We leave for Houston tomorrow night to see my family. I'm really excited about seeing everyone. It's been awhile. Before I leave and don't get a chance to blog, I wanted to all let you know about Cheryl Miller. (She is my friend that was diagnosed with the brain tumor) She started chemo and radiation last week and has been doing great! She even came to church yesterday! It's been a hard 4 week sfor them, but I have never seen so much faith in a family. God is doing so many amazing things through this.....whichis hard for most of us to wrap our minds around....but I guess He works like that. He's God. ha.

Last week Willy had asked me to plan a song for the end of his message. I ended up choosing "How Great Is Our God", not even quite sure where he was going with his message. Again, it's really cool how God works because it fit perfectly! (Even though it was totally out of my range and I choked a little on it) I just love the words to that song.....

How great is our God
Sing with me how great is our God

And all will sing how great....
how great is our God

Name Above All Names
You are worthy of all praise
My heart will sing
How great is our God
