A Needed Laugh

(This was sent to us by his teacher. He is holding a microphone in his hand and proceeded to sing while holding the mustache in his mouth. Yes, he did this all himself.)

Today Jackson went to Mother's Day Out.

Today Jackson became Mr. Potato Head himself.

Today I laughed. Hard.

Little Repeats

Jackson is in the stage of repeating everything he hears. At first it's cute. He hears us say things to each other like, "Mommy likes to spend money", "Oh, Nicccceee", "Daddy's playing golf?", "Silly Billy"...etc. However, we are now having to watch everything we say. Here is a scenario for you that happened in our kitchen.

I'm in the kitchen cooking and Jason is making fun of me for something. (Probably the fact that I am cooking) We proceed to say things back to each other...only kidding around. Then Jason says, "Hey, I'll punch you in the neck".
  • First of all, WHAT? Seriously, that's all you could come up with? Ha.
  • Second, and most important, Jackson !!!! He walks in and says "Mommy, I'll punch you in the neck" and laughs hysterically. Now he is telling all his friends that he is going to punch them in the neck. I am sure we have many parents in our church horrified at how "Jason and Natalie are teaching little Jack-Jack to punch".

I am really hoping we aren't the only ones who go through this. I'm hoping he will start to repeat all the really intellectual things we say to each other.

Not a chance.

Flower Girl

Last night my mother-in-law watched Jackson and Reagan while Jason and I went to grab a bite to eat. It was really nice by the way! Of course, there were pictures to be taken! Here is one she shot of Reagan last night. I just love her in this picture. She will be 3 weeks old on Saturday. I can't believe it! Bre recently took some pictures of Reagan too and I can't wait to see how they all turned out. :)

Also, congrats to the Conant's! Luke David Conant was born yesterday and is doing wonderful. What I thought was really impressive....Jennifer only pushed one time. Wow. He is beautiful! We love you guys.

14 days...and counting

Today Reagan is 14 days old. Crazy!

Things have been going pretty well for the Powers Family. Our family is healthy again and growing each day. I am starting to realize that going from 1 to 2 is a lot harder than I thought. It's not that it's the hardest thing ever, it's just a transition for us. Keeping Jackson entertained while taking care of a newborn is a bit challenging. Other than that, we are finding our way.
Reagan seems to be growing like a weed. She eats all the time. We have nicknamed her Chunky Monkey. I'm not sure she will appreciate that in about 16 years. I'll have to come up with something else by then. Jason and I are doing great, but exhausted. On Friday I realized that I am doing too much too soon. My body is not taking that well either and seems to be going backwards in it's recovery. So, I am making sure to put my feet up more and not mop my floors like I did on Tuesday. (But they look really good!)

Highlights of my week:

*Walking to the park with Jack and Reagan. Even if we did get there to only turn right back around...it was fun.

*Painting rocks in the front yard with Bre, Abby and Carson on a beautiful, cool morning.

*All the great meals from great friends! Seriously, thank you.

*Being taken care of by my husband. Babe, I know that I am a hormonal wreck, but thank you for your patience and your love. I love you..from Texas to Heaven to God.

Jason and Jack

are home! Jack hasn't thrown up since 5:00 yesterday and we just couldn't take it anymore! Thankfully, he is still wetting diapers and beginning to act like his old self. We are pretty much keeping Reagan and Jackson separated until he is symptom free for 24 hrs, but at least they are here. It makes all the difference.

Thanks for all your prayers. Really. I appreciate it a lot!!!

An Update

Jackson is still sick. The Dr. said he needed to be symptom free for 24 hours...that puts us at 5:00 tomorrow night! This seriously stinks.

On another note. Reagan is doing beautifully. She was a week old yesterday and is a chunky monkey. We went to the dr. this week on Wednesday and she had lost a lb. They were a little concerned because it was more than usual, but by Friday she had gained it all back almost. Her little face is so cherub like. Ha. She truly is the best baby ever. I don't think I could have stayed by myself when Jackson was born. He cried all the time. She sleeps and eats basically. When she's not doing either of those, she looks around and seems to be taking everything in. It's wonderful! I have had 2 horrible diapers since Jason has been gone. Those 2 outfits didn't make it and I threw them away. It wasn't even worth it...yuck.

I am really struggling not having my family around. Jason has been at his parents and me, the people person, is here. It's definitely a stretch for me. I have had to watch myself a couple of times...I think I expect the computer to talk back to me or something. :) This evening Jason came by to visit. I did NOT want him to go. Poor guy. He is discouraged too. He goes back to work Tuesday and wants to spend time with Reagan. We thought maybe 2 nights...not 3. What's worse is that he's only a mile away. So, continue to pray. We are definitely making it and I am completely aware that it could be way worse. It's still tough though.

Thanks everyone! Much Love.

A Prayer Request

Jackson came down with a stomach bug yesterday. :( He is so sick and the doctor wanted us to get him and Reagan apart. So, Jason and Jack went to spend the night last night at Ammi and Poppy's house. :( Thankfully, my dad and sister were here so I wasn't entirely alone, but now they are leaving and Jack is still throwing up. Poor little guy.

  • Please pray for Jackson and that he would get better soon. I wish I could be there with him.
  • Please pray for Jason. He is having to take care of him by himself and he is really missing Reagan.
  • Please pray for me. I will be alone tonight with a newborn and I am praying for peace, strength and confidence! :)

The Lord will not give us anything we can not handle. That is my encouragement!
