The Dentist From God

So, I went to the dentist yesterday. Let me tell you, I hate going there. Seriously, I was more nervous about going to the dentist than I was going into labor with Jackson. Pretty ridiculous, I know.

They are going to have to pull my top left wisdom tooth. I was there for 3 hours waiting on a call from my OB to give permission to do what was necessary. We took X-Rays only to find out that my the root of my tooth is curved and that she didn't feel comfortable pulling it. They then referred me to an Oral Surgeon. Without insurance I was now looking at paying $400 for one tooth to be pulled. Ouch.

I was on my way out with my antibiotic and pain killer in hand when the receptionist started asking me all these questions about what I do for a living. We were having a great time chatting, when she suddenly said, "You know, our other dentist isn't in right now, but she's back next week. She pulls teeth that are like this all the time. I know she could do it and I would only charge you $95. Do you want me to ask her?"

Uhhh, duh. So, I am getting all of this done, from exam, to X-Ray, to tooth removed....for $115.
Jason and I have been praying so much about this because things have been so financially tight. He does provide!

Is God cool or what?

Sunday night I started having this horrible toothache. I have never had one. I have never even had a cavity. It hasn't gone away. No dental insurance. Dude!

Sunday night my last pair of contacts ripped. We don't have vision insurance. Dude!

Tooth is still hurting. Vision is still blurry.

Called my Mom's dentist today. Told her my sob story. She said, "Well, I'll just give you a huge discount. I'll see you for $10."

Yes, that's right. $10!!!!!
Thank you Lord for providing once again.

16 weeks.....24 to go.

Yesterday was my 16 week check-up. Everything looks pretty good. We heard the baby's heartbeat. That's always exciting and encouraging! :) Since January, I have only gained 4 lbs! I am sure it's because I've been so sick, but I gained a total of 20 lbs with Jackson and am hoping to keep it that way with this one.

I'll find out on May 13th what the sex is. I am super anxious and we are hoping for a girl. I am in love with the name "Avery Grace" for a girl and "Cole Alexander" for a boy. We will see....

Up until last night, I have been feeling pretty awful. I was still sick every night and then yesterday it seemed to just turn off. So, I am not making any calls yet, but I am hoping that this is the end to an 8:00 pm bedtime.

Thanks for all your prayers. Amanda, thank you for your amazing encouragement and sympathy. I know YOU understand. :)

What 3 skills would you learn?

Amanda tagged me on this so, here I am answering the call! It's interesting that this came up because I have thought of this a lot lately. I realized recently that I need some new hobbies. I love to sing, but if I were to go around singing everywhere I went people would get sick of me. So here I go.........

1. Mountain Climber - This is completely random, but I think it would be coolest thing ever. I love being outside and I love walking, but mountain climbing seems so adventorous...and scary. Lol. Plus, I would be in great shape and get to wear cool mountain climbing clothes. (I am such a dork)

2. Photographer - I would love, love, love to have an eye for photography like my sister-in-law Breanna. Her photos are inspiring, beautiful and creative. For me, it would just be an amazing outlet. I could spend hours just doing something like that.

3. Wedding Planner- Have you seen the movie? You know, J-Lo and Matthew Mcoughna"hotty". Ha. Okay, I want to be her. I would LOVE to plan weddings!! I think it would be the coolest thing ever! I know that may not be a skill and more like a job, but still...it sounds so fun. I love planning events, I love details, special occasions....wedding planning would be great.

So, these are my wishes. I should do at least 2 of these things. I want to tag Michelle, McKenna and Bre. :) You have to post this in your next blog. Have Fun!

People Pleasing

Right now as a church staff we are reading 1 Corinthians. First, I love that we are doing this together...the Lord is teaching us so much. Second of all, it has been very convicting for me. Don't you just love when that happens? :) Here is a posting our Pastor blogged recently. It spoke to me so much and I just had to share it. How great would it be if we only cared what God thought?

Now, that is a burden lifted. Read below....

"Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself. My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me. Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men’s hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God. "- 1 Cor. 4:2-5

One of the sad things about our world is our obsession with appearances. What will others think? How will it appear? It seems that Paul could care less what others think. I like that…a lot!Don’t worry about how things appear. Concern yourself with how they really are! Really there are only 2 concerns: Have I been faithful, and what does God think? He sees the heart of the matter and one day all will be revealed and the fruit will be seen.

Don’t worry so much about what people think. Now, isn’t that a burden lifted?

Jack-Jack

He calls this his "B-Ball". Just like his Daddy.
So Angelic! :)

Running through the sprinklers in his new Nemo shorts.

Jackson has been spending Monday nights at Jason's parents while we have small group. Since I have been so sick it has been hard for me to take care of him, so she has been rescuing me! Of course, there are always lots of pictures taken at Ammie's house. :) Jackson will be 2 years old in May. I can't believe it!
